Mary’s Place is a shelter for women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Mary’s Place offers immediate safety to affected individuals while meeting basic needs.
Our team works together to ensure our residents have access to legal assistance (filing Orders for Protection, victim reparations and working with court administration/law enforcement). We provide transportation and access to public transportation. Individuals can also expect access to support groups, classes and one on one support focusing on identified needs, which includes healthy relationships, self-care, parenting, apartment search and basic living skills. Referrals and ongoing support are also offered focusing on financial support, health insurance, employment, education and child care.
The length of stay is based on family and individual need. Our initial goal is to provide the support that each family requires to achieve a sense of safety and independence along with securing safe, affordable housing within 30 days. Some families or individuals may only need shelter for a night or up to a week.
